Nothing feels quite the same as living in your own home for longer
There’s no place like home. It’s a unique feeling, surrounded by familiarity, comfort, memories and things just the way we like them. There’s no doubt what might seem like small details can often have a big significance. For many people, the ability to stay in their own home for longer, as their needs change, can be a powerfully positive experience.
We know there are many reasons why people might need live-in care to stay in their own home and these might change over time. Maybe there’s a family member who normally lives with the older person who can’t be around for a period of time. Maybe someone is back from hospital and needs an additional level of care for a while. Whatever the reason, The Care Trust offers people care in their own home 24 hours a day.
As you’ll see from our other services, our team is set up and fully qualified to provide a wide range of care, so you can be confident we’re able to meet specific and changing needs, whether that’s medication support, personal care, nutrition and hydration, domestic assistance or more.
Our approach is a bit different to some other home care providers. We don’t employ carers solely as live-in carers. Instead, our regular care team can provide care 24 hours a day as and when required. This means care can be arranged much more flexibly putting greater choice and control in the hands of our clients and their relatives.
Many live-in care agencies provide one carer for a period of time before another takes over for a further period.
There’s no doubt this can work for some people. What we’ve found to be very effective is to offer a small team of carers that our clients know, who will visit and support them throughout the week offering a broader range of interactions and support. If needs be we can also put in place round the clock care to support respite needs for a short amount of time where it may not be possible to arrange a live-in carer.
